Dear friends I am glad to post to-day issues 78, 79, 80 upto Oct.30, 2009   With all good wishes  Yours affably  J.Narayanasamy   நாளும் ஒரு திருக்குறள் – இதழ் 78. திருவள்ளுவர் ஆண்டு 2040 அய்ப்பசித் திங்கள் 11நாள், புதன்கிழமை.   தொகுப்பு: 66 வினைத் தூய்மை.      செயலாற்றலில், செய்யும் முறைகளில் தூய்மையான, குற்றமற்ற வழிகளைக் கடைப்பிடித்தல். இந்த எண்ணம், மனப்பாங்கு, தமிழர் பண்பாட்டின் தனித்தன்மை மிளிர்வது. பிற நாட்டு வாழ்வுமுறைக் கோட்பாடுகளோ, சமயநூல்களோ இதனை முதன்மையாகக் கொண்டு வலியுறுத்தக் காணோம். நாம் ஏற்கும் குறிக்கோள்களைப் போலவே, செய்யும் வழிமுறைகளும் அப்பழுக்கற்ற நேர்மையுடையவாக இருக்க வேண்டும். நற்செயல்களுக்கும் தீய, குறுக்கு வழிகளில் சூழ்ச்சிகள் செய்வது தகாது. 'சாம, பேத, தான தண்டம்', என்னும் உக்திகளை திருக்குறள் ஏற்கவில்லை.         'பழிமல்கி எய்திய ஆக்கத்தின் சான்றோர்      கழிநல் குரவே  தலை'      குறள் 657         பழிகள் மிகுந்திடத் தவறு செய்து  பெறும் செல்வாக்கான வாழ்வை விடச் சான்றோருக்கு, தூய்மையாக இருப்பதால் வரக்கூடிய கேடுறும் வறுமை கூட மேலானது.         ஒருவரின் தூய்மையான நற்செயல்களால் வலிமை பெருகும். நற்செயல்களை நல்வழிமுறைகளைக் கொண்டு செய்தால் விரும்பிய எல்லாப் பயனும் கிடைக்கும். தூய்மையான புகழ் தறாத தீயவற்றை எந்த நிலையிலும் வெறுத்து ஒதுக்க வேண்டும்.       நடுக்கமில்லாத உறுதியும் மனத்தெளிவும் உடையவர்கள், துன்பங்கள் சூழ்ந்த கையறு நிலையிலும் இழிவுறும், பின்னால் வறுந்தக் கூடிய செயல்களில் ஈடுபட மாட்டார்கள். பெற்றோர் பசியில் வாடுவதைக் காண்பது துன்பத்திலும் துன்பம். அந்நிலையிலும் சான்றோர் இகழும் இழி செயல்களில் ஈடுபடமாட்டார்கள்.       தகாதவை என்று கடிந்து ஒதுக்க வேண்டிய தீச்செயல்களில் ஈடுபடுபவர்களுக்கு, அப்போதைக்கு சில வெற்றிகள் கிடைத்தாலும் பின்னர் நீங்காத துன்பம் சூழும். பிறரை அழவைத்துக் கவர்ந்த செல்வம் எல்லாம் நம்மை அழவிட்டுப் பிரிந்துவிடும். நல்வழிகளில் முயன்றால் காலப்போக்கில் அவை நன்மையே தரும். சஞ்சலம் தரும் தவறான வழிகளில் பொருளீட்டிக் காக்க நினைப்பது, சுடாத பச்சை மண்கலத்தில் நீர் ஊற்றிக் காக்க நினைப்பது போல் கெடும்.     THIRUKKURAL  -  A SONNET A DAY -  No. 78.  Wednesday, October 28, 2009.   CHAPTER 66: PURITY OF ACTIONS.   In pursuing an object, in executing a mission purity of means is as important as the goals sought to be achieved. This is a concept unique, emphasized by the ethics of ancient Tamil culture.  ThirukkuRaL lays great stress on purity, firmness and methods of actions, esp. of those in positions of power and responsibilities to society, and implies the code that 'ends can never justify    means'.   'Pazhi malki eaiythiya aakkaththin saantRor Kazhi  nalkuRaivae  thalai'   kuraL  657   Hoarded gains on a pile of vices, are worse Than pinching poverty, for virtuous wise.   Good companionship aids creativity; purity of actions for worthy ends fulfill desires in good measure. Despise at any cost actions that do not gain fame or goodness. One who aspires growth in esteem of the worthy, disdains actions that dim fame. Clarity of thought and unwavering strength of mind save us from demeaning acts, whatever be the obstacles or mishaps. Be cautious to avoid actions that cause regrets later; and safeguard against their recurrence.   Even in the face of painful hunger of ones kith and kin, the virtuous do not act in ways despised by society. Keep off from forbidden and worthless deeds; their fleeting gains lead to lasting regrets. Gains extracted from tears, go down the drain weeping. Fair means though halting, lead to enduring virtues.   A guilty conscience on a devious path is as vain as preserving water in a raw clay pot. * * * * * * * * * நாளும் ஒரு திருக்குறள் – இதழ் 79. திருவள்ளுவர் ஆண்டு 2040. அய்ப்பசித் திங்கள் 12ம் நாள் வியாழக்கிழமை. தொகுப்பு: 67. வினைத் திட்பம். செயலாற்றலில் மன உறுதி, திடம், துணிவு.                                         'எண்ணிய எண்ணியாங்கு எய்துவர் எண்ணியர்            திண்ணியர்  ஆகப்  பெறின்'   குறள் 666.   செயலாற்ற முனைபவர்களின் மனம், வினையில் உறுதியான ஈடுபாடு கொண்டால், தாங்கள் விரும்பும் வழியிலேயே வெற்றியடைய முடியும். ஒரு வினையை வெற்றிபெறச் செய்வதில் மன உறுதி முதன்மையானது; அது குன்றும்போது மற்ற குணங்களும் பயன்தரா. இடையூறு வருமுன் காத்தல்; மீறி வந்துவிட்டால் தளராது, விலகாது எதிர்கொள்ளல்; இவ்விரண்டு நெறிகளும் ஆராய்து அறிவோர் கோட்பாடுகள். ஏற்ற வினைகளைக் கடைத்தேறச் செய்து முடிப்பதே வீரம். நடுவழியில் தடைப்பட்டாலோ, வெளிப் பட்டாலோ நீங்காத தொல்லைகள் சூழ்ந்து கெடுக்கக் கூடும்.         வினைகளைச் செய்யும் முறைகளைப் பிறருக்குச் சொல்லுதல் எளிதாக இருக்கலாம். ஆயின் பொறுப்பேற்றுச் செய்து முடிப்பது அவ்வளவு எளிதன்று. சொன்னதைச் செய்வேன், செய்வதைச் சொல்வேன் என்ற கோட்பாடு சிறந்தது. துன்பங்கள் மிகுந்து வரினும், மனதில் குழப்பமின்றித் தெளிவுடன், ஏற்ற வினைகளில் சோர்வோ, தளர்ச்சியோ இன்றிச் செய்து முடிக்க வேண்டும். வேறு எந்த வலிமைகள் உடையவராயினும் ஏற்ற வினைகளை உறுதியுடன் செயல்படுத்தும் திண்மை அற்றவர்களை உலகத்தார் மதிக்க மாட்டார்கள்.         THIRUKKURAL – A SONNET A DAY – No.79. October 29, 2009.               CHAPTER 67. FIRMNESS AND STRENGTH OF ACTIONS               Resolute, determined and bold steps are the strength of deeds. Acting in a manner feasible in time and method are essential perquisites.   'eNNiya eNNiyaangku eaithuvar eNNiyar                         thiNNiyar  aakap  peRin'  kuraL 666.                   Total involvement in a task and the will-power to perform To perfection, leads the way one targets to success.   Strength of mind has the power to succeed; in its absence all other powers falter and fail. Guard against adversities and cross obstacles with firmness; the wise abide by these cardinal principles to fulfill any act to perfection. Work delayed or exposed midway ends in peril.   It is easily said how best to perform a job; to perform it well and fulfill is hard all the way. The ruler has all the praise for valor of those who succeed in heroic deeds. Do not ignore or ridicule even small things; lynch-pins keep in position the wheels of a big temple car on the move.    Clarity of thought sans confusion or hesitation gives strength to act and succeed. Though beset with pain, good acts performed with the strength of courage can lead to enduring gains. The world cares not those who lack the will to act; despite other strengths at their command.      நாளும் ஒரு திருக்குறள் – இதழ் 80. திருவள்ளுவ்ர் ஆண்டு 2040 அய்ப்பசித் திங்கள் 13ம் நாள், வெள்ளிக்கிழமை.   தொகுப்பு: 68. வினை செயல்வகை. வினைகளை ஆற்ற முற்படும்போது மேற்கொள்ள வேண்டிய செயல்வழி முறைகள், செயல் திறமைகள்.         'வினையால் வினையாகிக் கோடல் நனைகவுள்      யானையால் யானைஆர்த் தற்று' குறள் 678   ஒன்றைச் செய்யும்போது, தொடர்புடைய மற்ற வினைகளையும் சேர்த்து முடித்தல், யானைக் குழியில் பழகிய கும்கி யானையைக் கொண்டு மற்றொன்றைப் பிடிப்பது போன்றது.  ஒரு வினையை ஏற்றுச் செய்யுமுன், தெளிவாகத் திவிரமாக எண்ணி அராய்ந்து, அதனால் ஏற்படக்கூடிய முடிவுகள், வழியில் வரக்கூடிய தடைகள், விளையும் பலன்களை மனத்தில் தொளிவாக்கிக் கொண்டு முடிவு செய்து தொடங்க வேண்டும். ஒருசெயலில் ஈடுபடுமுன் அதற்கு வேண்டிய பொருள், தக்க கருவிகள், காலம், இடம் இவற்றோடு வினையின் தன்மையையும் தெளிவாக எண்ணிச் செயல்பட வேண்டும். காலம் தாழ்த்திச் செய்ய வேண்டியவைகளை நிதானமாகவும், உடனடியாகச் செய்ய வேண்டியவைகளை விரைவாகவும் செய்து முடிக்க வேண்டும். இயலும் இடமெல்லாம் முயலும் முறையில் செயலாற்ற வேண்டும்.   முற்றும் அணைக்கப்படாத தீ மீண்டும் எரிந்து கேடு தரக்கூடும். முழுமையாக முடிக்கப்படாத வேலைகள், தொல்லைகளையும், பகமையும் வளர்க்கும். ஒரு தொழிலைச் செய்வதற்கான வழிமுறைகளையும், வினையின் தன்மையையும்,  நுட்பமாக அறிந்த திறமையாளருடன் கலந்து ஆய்ந்து, கருத்தறிந்து விரைந்து செயல்பட வேண்டும்.   பகை எண்ணம் கொண்டவர்களை மனம் மாற்றிச் பொருத்தமாகச் சேர்த்துக் கொள்வது, நம் நண்பருக்கு உதவுவதைவிட முதன்மையா விரைந்து செய்யப்பட வேண்டியது.    THIRUKKURAL – A SONNET A DAY – No.80. October 30, 2009.   CHAPTER 68: MODE OF ACTION. WAYS TO PERFORM DUTIES AND AVOCATIONS.   'Vinayaal vinaiyaakik koudal nanaikavuL Yaanaiyaal yaanaiaath  thatRu'  kuraL 678   Catch a tusker by employing a trained tusker; achieve A deed, by purposefully maneuvering the tasks.   Due deliberations and wise counsel lead to strong resolve; delay matters, that have to proceed cautiously, but hurry up tasks that demand quick action. It is wise to act in a manner feasible in time and method and seek viable alternatives as necessary.   A fire not put out fully may flare up; a deed or a foe not done to completion, are potential harms. It is important to befriend a potential foe first and foremost, faster than helping a friend in need. When you are week against a foe it is wise to join a capable and dependable ally to match.   Judge well the ultimate objective, likely hindrance and benefits on completion; learn from experts the intricacies and be sure of the ways to push up for fruition, before venturing on a task.  While pursuing a task be clear on its nature, dimension, place, time and means to achieve gains.
