There are hundreds of ways to know your atman.Vallalar gives you a simple techninque.Treat all human beings as your self.This is called jivakarunya.Don't think of the other person's colour,caste,gender,religion or any other barrier.He or she is a being.You are a being.There is no difference.This is the first stage.
Next,treat any animal or tree or bird as only a being.There is no difference between man and animal or tree.This is called Anmaneya orumaippadu.Practice these two techniques. After some years,when you look at a person or a tree you will see its or his atman.
