          "avathar" is a sanskrit word.  It means coming down.  It refers to those divine beings who come down to earth as per the orders of the Supreme Being to guide human beings. 
          Those persons listed are enlightened ones and not avatars.
           Some  considered as avatars have left their bodies on earth and some others have not.
          Vallalar's avatar was to show by personal example that human beings are to attain the state of Godhood on the earth itself.

Baba,
vivekantha,
Vethanthri Mahirishi,
Arts of Living ,
Matha Amirthanathmayee
Nithyanatha swamigal.. etc.., more hidden persons are there

In case of vallalar he mix and mingle with oneness...(Here vallalar did not loss the body like others)
If the person lost the physical body, that person should take rebirth...

In my knowledge , Avatharam will come into picture to explain some good things to humanity in any form
In different time periods in different ways to make understand the value of human birth in spiritual ways..
you can treat above persons also a "avatharam" in this kali yuga..
because of these people lot of persons understood the value of human birth...
