Hearing with a New Ear

 

Dear Seekers of Truth,

 

We all know that the year 2009 is new in number only because the world remains as old as ever; countries buy coffins for the living with the billions borrowed in basket of currencies. With all the riches at its disposal, the world is still reluctant to cure the disease of hunger and falsehood. In the meantime, eyes of science are focused on space to glean traces of life extra terrestrial. But we are aware that humanity on earth crouches like endangered species not by aliens from nowhere but by humanity itself. Therefore, who is to celebrate the newness in the year when the world itself remains as old as ever before?

 

The year is new but the world, old as ever

Billows of smoke rising pillages of war

Eclipse light of peace on vault of earth

Burning children dyed in flames scarlet

Dash to springs of life on tracks of death

Living corpses still breathing

Suckle in vain milk less breasts

Crippled beings reflect cease to live

Whether a blessing for ever

 

The year is new but the world, old as ever

Deformed by crutches of genetics

Primitives torch fabrics of humanity

Blaze of barbarism razes roots of life

Pigeons of peace search for twigs of olive

Cain is guilty of the blood of Abel

Gifted souls freed from clutches of flesh

Wolf sheds tears till sheep bleats blood

 

The year is new but the world, old as ever

Bows of falcon arch flights of death

Phoenix from ashes live plunges to dust

Gravediggers unkind to corpses of war

Spider of atom spins webs of holocaust

Scales are even only in journals of justice

Right is distinct from wrongs of religion

Corpus of freedom mere ashes in urn.

 

The year is new but the world, old as ever

Path of Truth, the key to unlock life of soul

Parrots are enlightened but patriots are not

May the law of compassion dawn forthwith

On disciples divided between themselves.

When the world escapes from falsity new

The year would also be renewed in truth.

 

 

Written on behalf of the innocent souls who are struggling every second to protect the young and the old alike from the missiles of wars, starving naked in the dust day and night praying for death as a blessing from god.

 

Let us pray for them on this day.
