AN INCARE HIGH IMPACT INITIATIVE:
Thottiyum near Musiri in Trichy district has been conducting a mini 'Gadhimai' kind of mass buffalo calf(100's) sacrifice for the past 50 years at the 'Madura Kaliyamman Koil' premises....
When INCARE was informed by Mr.Somanathan, we decided to stop this and filed a Writ petition at the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court on the Tuesday the 10th. The respondents to the case were the Trust of the Temple, Animal Welfare Board of India, Collector and the Superintendent of Police for the district.
A favorable judgement on this issue could pave the way to stop all other animal sacrifices done across the county in religious events...
Our humble request to the AWBI is to provide all possible help to make this a Land Mark judgement...
