The Bangalore City-Salem passenger (56514) will be extended to Nagore
with effect from July 1 and the Salem-Bangalore City junction passenger
(56513) will run from Nagore on July 2, according to a press release of
the Southern Railway here on Wednesday.
At present, the Bangalore-Nagore passenger will leave Bangalore at 7.15

Tirunallar, Velankanni and Nagore, was suspended a few years ago for the
BG conversion works between Bangalore and Salem. After this BG
conversion works were over, this passenger train was operated between
Salem and Bangalore.
Rs. 204 crore
The Railways, a few years ago, announced the extension of the
Bangalore-Salem passenger train to Nagore, after the completion of the
BG conversion works in the Tiruvarur-Mayiladuthurai section.
The 38-km Tiruvarur-Mayiladuthurai section was converted into BG track
at a cost of Rs. 204 crore. S.K. Mittal, Commissioner for Railway
Safety, conducted mandatory inspection of the new track on March 22 and
certified it fit for train movement.
