Dear Sundar Krishnan, Kindly go to vallalarspace.com and search "vallalar meditation". You will find a translation of what Vallalar has said about meditation. Vallalar says one must not start aruva (non-form) meditation without first starting uruva (form) meditation. The form gradually fads away and gives way to aruvam. He suggests the forms of camphor and flame which clearly indicate how ultimately both become one and disappear without any residue, that is, the intelligence of the soul and the Supreme Soul unite to become One ( non-form). One is free to choose any meditation. It is always better to understand that once a person turns in, he or she is guided by the Grace of God and not by any person outside. There will always be individuals at different stages of spiritual maturity and hence no single way works out or appeals to all. Vallalar having this in mind and ever compassionate has given basic guidelines which are easy to follow by most of us irrespective of our faith. I believe one must practise patiently and regularly without ever worrying about the progress. Be assured that the Teacher knows when to promote the student. Kindly do not make comparisons of different forms of meditation. They will certainly confuse any beginner. You are welcome to raise anyother doubt you may have on Vallalar's meditation. Wishing you all progress in meditation, V.Namasivayam in the service of Vallalar --- On Fri, 11/12/10, sundar krishnan <sungayu7578@yahoo.com> wrote:
