Comparison b/w East and West Epics and mythologies

Indian Ramayanam , Bharatham with Homers ILIAD ( Greek mythology )

1 East : Bhishma , a character blessed with no defeat

West : Achillees , a character also blessed with no defeat

2. Ramayanam : was fought for Sita who was stolen by Ravanan - basically a war fought to regain one’s wife

ILIAD : Trojan war was also fought to get back Helen , wife of Menelaus , who was stolen by Paris of Troy - Hence named Trojan war

3. Bharatham : Duryothanan bestowed with the an immortal body except for thighs by his mother thru the power of EYES

ILIAD : Achillees, his body also was immortalised by his mother dipping his body in the mythological river “ STYX ” and burning his mortal organs and applying " ambrosia " thru out his body - except for his feet which his mother had to hold while dipping in river

4. Bharatham : Duryothanan was killed only after beaten at his weak point - thighs - point of vulnerability

ILIAD : Achillees was also killed after striking at his weak point - his heel - point of vulnerability

5. Ramayanam : Lord Ram could not have won the war without the help of Hanuman

ILIAD : Achillees , without him , Troy would not have fallen and Trojan war won by Greeks

6. East : One belief is that what Ravana had taken to Lanka was a fake sita - she was safe some where

West : Same is that , what Paris had stolen to Troy was a fake Helen - she was safe somewhere in Egypt till trojan war was over

7. Bharatham : Pandavas were born thru little gods like Indra, Sun etc

ILIAD : So, was Helen. She was born thru little god - Zeus

8. East : Lanka was set afire in this war by Hanuman

West : Troy was sent to flames by Greeks

9. Bharatham : Draupathi, wife of pandavas , was in possession of fabled bowl - Akshaya Pathram - which could feed with food whenever asked for - during their exile of 12 yrs in forests

ILIAD : Agamemnon had the support of little gods who could raise food , water from the earth and feed the soldiers who fought the war that had lasted for 12 yrs

 

 

I am astounded how our epics are matching with Greeks and what a similarity ?? I am awestruck by this

 

its true that Great Men think Alike ???
