Gaja=elephant

 

Guo karnam= cow ear

Gaja karnam= elephant ear

 

Guokarna is a famous temple in karnatka in between udupi and Goa

NH-17 coastal road.

 

When Ravana bring semi-solid LINGA from kilash siva
on is way to lanka on condition should not put onthe

ground/earth. But he tricked by Gaja pathi/Ganapathi

placed on the earth and this semi solid lingam slipped

due to liquid state. And Ravana pulled out of the earth

Became cow's ear shape ligam called GUOKARNA TEMPLE.

last year i visited this place and cant see but able tuch the

lingam. They say only some important day only show to public.

 

hope i bit explain and afraid may be wrong.....
