Vallalar is a born Gnani.He is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent.

He not only cleared the doubts of HH Sankaracharya but also advised him not to wear

silk loins as it is made from killing thousands of silk worms.Fom then onwards Kanchimath

started using only cotton loins and advised devotees agains using silk clotthes.

This incident shows the non violence of Vallalar and also importance and respect Kanchi holiness

had to the words of vallalar.

SANKARACHARIAR AND HIS DOUBTS

 

Once when Sri Sankarachariya Swami ( the religious head of Kanchi kamakoti peetam) had been to Madras he enquired whether there was any Sanskrit Pandit who could clear off his doubt in a Sanskrit book. One of his Brahmin devotees referred the name of Vallalar.   Then Vallalar and his disciple Toluvur Velayudha Mudaliar visited on Sankarashariar at the latters request. Sankarachariars's doubts in the Sanskrit text were cleared off.
