Dear Members of the Space and Groups,

The true meaning behind the celebrated mystery of eight and two has deluded many a mind treading the path of spirituality. However, wise masters and the mystics who possess the key to the wisdom have always been reluctant to open the doors to all alike. But occasionally they have allowed the introspecting minds to have the glimpses of the mystic meaning locked in the most mysterious symbol "eight and two" within a permitted level. For reasons best known, the lock has not been opened by the Masters to the earnest minds still sojourning on the physical plane. However, as a saint with the greatest compassion ever demonstrated on this earth, Vallalar has considered it necessary to grant access to the secret even before the human mind transcends the physical state and attain intelligence in evolution by piercing the veils of seven to appreciate the meaning of eight and two.

We all know that present, the concept of Eight and Two is being explained away as to be comprising of the five elements viz, space, air, fire, water, earth  and sun, moon and soul. Let us objectively analyse the mystery behind the same in the light shed by Vallalar.

It may be appreciated that at Chidambaram, a devotee has got the advantage of seeing the sanctum of Lord Nataraja as well as the sanctum of Lord Govindaraja simultaneously. The former is ambalam, ie manifestation of the macrocosm; the latter is arangam ie the subtle of the subtlest state of the unmanifest. The secret of Chidambaram is neither the dance of Lord Nataraja within the precincts of ambalam, nor it is the rest of Lord Govindaraja within the precincts of the arangam but it is a state of flight in between the two as the timeless space spanning everlasting eternities and taking the name and form as per the capacity of the mind surrendering before it in prayerful bliss.

No wonder that Vallalar as a child simply laughed when the secret of Chidambaram was disclosed merely by lifting the veil at the shrine of Lord Nataraja alone. That was why Vallalar at the later date, wanted to redraft the method of worship at Chidambaram but somehow it did not materialize as Arut Perunjothi is to be in everlasting dance within the precincts of the Assembly of Truthful Wisdom built by Vallalar at Vadalur

It is not known how many of us know the true significance of the secret of Assembly of Truthful Wisdom at Vadalur which has been designed and executed by the Saint Vallalar himself as an explanation to eight and two. The Assembly has been designed to be an octagon having eight sides with the entry point being guarded by two small assemblies known as Sirchabai and Porchabai;

Every one is aware that Pythagoras was arguably the first mathematician and the philosopher in the western world. He taught that in the case of right angled triangles, the square on the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares on other two sides. According to Pythagoras theorem, an isosceles triangle ie one with two equal sides whose sides are 1 and 1, has a hypotenuse of . As per the theorem, the value of root  could never be measured ie its length could never be measured or calculated. That means there is no number equal to .While Pythagoras said that the area of the square drawn on the hypotenuse could be worked out and only the root of the square could not be worked out, Vallalar says that not only the area of all the three but also the sides could not be measured or calculated as all are infinite. In other words, not only all the squares but also the sides of all the squares are infinite. Therefore, the theorem of Pythagoras that a2 + b2 = c2 falls flat as within the Assembly of Truthful Wisdom, there is no a2, there is no u2 and there is no m2 because not only a, u and m are individually infinite but also collectively as aum it is infinite.

At the Assembly, sirchabai and Porchabai which are arangam and ambalam respectively have been constituted as the wings of Arut Perunjoti. While ambalam is denoted by the alphabet a, arangam is denoted by the alphabet u and the jothi darshan area by the alphabet m. It has been designed as the left and right eye respectively and the jothi darshan area as the central eye. It has been designed as a place which is beyond night and day, a place which is beyond the poles of north and south. It is an octagon assembly purported to have entry from all the eight sides. In that sense, the present assembly is only an illustration of the grand design of Arut Perunjothi flanked by SirChabai and Porchabai from all the eight sides and visible equally to all standing around the eight sides. Whereas no side of Arut Perunjothi could ever be measured or calculated, it remains immeasurable and incalculable from any of the eight sides as well as from above and below.

 Vallalar has recorded this sublime truth in the Aghaval which surpasses all the revelations of this world. The secret of eight and two has been decoded these Lines 874 to 880 of Aghaval;

One it is, two it is, two of the one it is,

One it is within one; it is one and one only

One it is not, two it is not, not two of the one

One it is not within one; it is one and one only

One exists within the one; one is without the one

One of one without the one, it is one and one only

Horizontally, there are eight directions and vertically, there are two sides, one above and another below. The entire infinity encompassing all the eight sides with what is up and down could be expressed as 8 and 2. The directions are infinite and the span between up and down, above and below are infinite. It is symbolically represented in the linga where the auvudai covers the eight directions and the sthanu covers the top and bottom. It is otherwise known as dasa dheeksha in the mystic parlance. The Christian cross is also the codified symbol of 8 and 2 only. In that sense, lingam is a cross and cross is a lingam. The expanse of eight and two encompasses everything and nothing will escape from it. It is immeasurable in the micro as well as the macro level.

Saint Thirumoolar has explained the mystery behind eight and two in the following lines more succinctly:

Eight and two, I was ignorant

Eight and two, taught me my lord

Eight and two, when known by reason

Eight and two, remains symbol of lingam

The concept of eight and two has been so sanctimonious that if any one who examines the sanctum sanctorum of the temples, could always see crossing of two squares thereby making angles of eight above the deity installed therein. All the spiritual treatises of Saints Thiruvalluvar, Avvaiyar, Thirumoolar and all other Mystics sing the praise of this mysterious symbol of eight and two.

The person blessed by the glory of the glowing grace to be in the centre which unites the horizontal with the vertical, which unites the eight with the two, is always omniscient and omnipresent.

With regards

sivajayakumar
